| Description: |
|
Join us for a leisurely 3.5 mile circular walk through the leafy lanes and woods of Dulwich, which is one of London’s oldest recorded villages, and is a mix of quaint medieval lanes and ancient woodland. The explorer Ernest Shackleton went to the famous Dulwich College. We walk through Sydenham Woods which is a picturesque nature reserve managed by the London Wildlife Trust. We walk past some ancient ruins and a disused railway line and tunnel. There is also a Victorian folly deep in the woods. The walk starts and finishes at West Dulwich station. There is plenty of free parking in Croxted Road which is just past the station. During the walk we stop at a pub for some optional refreshments. Our walks are a great way to make new friends and meet new people in a relaxed and friendly environment. |
